About Us

WHERE WE ARE INVOLVED

At FIVESIXTEEN PROJECT, we decided that we’d forgo all the complicated “VISION – MISSION – VALUES ” statements and instead keep our mission simple. We are here toreach forgotten people in forgotten places. We opted for a few “we are” statements. They remind us of our identity and drive everything we do.

We exist to serve.

We seek to understand the needs of those we serve and exceed their expectations.

"We are the village".
We are an organisation, but also part of a large community.
We are all inter connected.

We are on a never-ending mission to find a better tomorrow. We strive to keep improving every community we touch!

OUR STORY

In early 2018, we began working and building relationships with lead pastors and congregations of 50 to 300 people who do not have a church building, often meeting under trees or small homemade wood structures. Often, these churches have been persecuted against and burned down by other religions. The idea is to build a cookie cutter type metal structure (54 x 36), often referred to a tabernacle/church to meet their need and put an end to this destruction. Over the last few years, we have seen these tabernacles go up and provide a place of worship and refuge for the children in the villages or small towns.
The goal is to control the cost and make the building fit any location and be able to produce them in mass quantity. Currently in one country alone, there is a need for over 10,000 of these buildings. The purpose of these relationships is twofold… First of all, we want to invest in them and their infrastructure needs. Anything that I have learned in the last 40 years of construction management or any of the resources we could bring from construction building practices would be available to them.
Ultimately, we want them to know that they are not forgotten…that people “like us” value what they are doing and identify with the challenges of leading in rural communities in forgotten places. Secondly, we want to learn from them. Somehow, someway, our future is connected with effectively engaging rural areas with the gospel. These leaders and congregations are on the front lines of ministry and can greatly help prepare us for whatever it is God is doing in us. Let me reiterate, this is first and foremost a relational journey. We are committed to let them and their needs dictate the recourses and time we spend together.
