Traditional steel-framed buildings are difficult to insulate, but in tropical environments, keeping cool is what we target. The steel roofing structure and open sides acts as a thermal barrier that transmits heat from the inside of the building to the outside, which means it allows airflow to flow efficiently with constant cooler temperatures. With this open airflow concept, condensation does not form leaving these steel-framed buildings vulnerable to rust or deterioration and are fire proof.
Each building takes one week to prefab in our shop. During this process, members of our team along with church volunteers dig and pour concrete footings and set anchor bolts. Upon the building’s arrival to the village, workers construct the building in about a day, turning the building over to the pastor and congregation.
